Vanessa Coote is an Instructor and Program Coordinator in the Computer and Information Sciences Department at Florida A&M University. A POGIL Project member since 2021, she has facilitated POGIL workshops both for The Project and on her campus, and she currently serves as the co-leader of the Supporting Inclusivity: Learning Communities for Historically Marginalized Groups strategic team. Her work focuses on active and collaborative learning, inclusive pedagogy, and broadening participation in computing. She has also presented on specifications grading, Learning Assistants, and the use of inquiry-based strategies in computer science education. Vanessa is passionate about creating equitable learning environments that empower students to succeed in STEM.
