Ruthanne Paradise is a Senior Lecturer II in Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She primarily teaches the Physical Chemistry, Analytical, and Instrumental Analysis laboratories, with a focus on creating engaging, inquiry-driven learning environments. Her teaching reflects a commitment to preparing students to think like scientists—collaborative, curious, and critically engaged.

Since 2013, Dr. Paradise has incorporated POGIL-PCL into her laboratory instruction and later extended POGIL strategies into General Chemistry lectures. The support she received from the POGIL-PCL community has motivated her to assist other instructors in adopting these approaches and in building a broader network of support.
